Shoe designer Julia Thomas was educated at Cordwainers, London College of Fashion before moving on to complete the MA at the Royal College of Art and winning the Manolo Blahnik award in June 2013. She has gained experience working for Nicholas Kirkwood and Jimmy Choo. Julia is based in London where she set up her shoe brand at the beginning of 2014.
Purity is a key concept in Julia Thomas’ work. With a vision to redefine the familiar perception of footwear, Julia’s debut collection examines the asymmetries of the body and challenges the very notion of symmetry in shoe design. The heels play a significant part in this collection. The flat sandal with a reversed heel is naturally elevating the wearer’s foot whereas the Perspex heels are milled out of a solid block before being polished to high shine. All the shoes are made by hand in Tuscany, Italy
